These Shoes Were Made for Walking

Apparently buying new sneakers is not the magical fix for my lack of walking. They look good, they feel good - I've tried them on several times so fit is not the issue.

It's motivation. I think.Did someone lock my front door from the outside?

It's too hot, it's too humid, I don't have shorts that hide my flabby thighs. I am too damned tired from work. The list of excuses is endless.

Why do I do this to myself? Go, don't go, go tomorrow. Aaaah!

I am so frustrated with myself. It can't be this difficult. The old lady down the street does laps around the neighborhood rain, or shine. Even while her two little Lhasa Apsos pull in different directions, and poop on the neighbor's lawn.

This old lady goes up and down the stairs from the fridge to the latest episode of Ted Lasso. Yes, Ted Lasso, may seem like a compelling reason to forego the one thing I set out to do, but what will I do when this season is done?

Okay, just checked The Weather Channel. Tomorrow will be the day. I will lace up those sneakers, put on leggings that crest just above my ankle bone, and throw the TV remote out the window.

At least while I am outside walking, I will be able to search for the remote in the bushes.

Don't worry Ted, I will be back. But only after I leave this old lady in the dust.

Take Two.
